How do you get everyone in the company on the same page?
A common problem we see is a disconnect between the teams in companies and the branding of that same company. Sales and Marketing have different approaches to how they sell your goods and services. Being on brand isn’t exactly top of mind for such departments as finance and operations, as they have much more important things to worry about! It’s important however to have a consistent outward and inward brand identity. Here are a few tips on how to resolve these issues:
Have a Brand Story or an Elevator Pitch
A Brand Story is essentially an expanded Mission Statement. You can lay out your company’s goals and vision in a more detailed fashion. An Elevator Pitch is, perhaps unsurprisingly, how you would pitch your company in 30 seconds as if you on an elevator ride. Here is a really great resource for creating an elevator pitch: https://www.smallbizdaily.com/the-elevator-pitch-example-youve-always-needed/
Make sure you work with your team to create these and then distribute it to each of them so that they can have the chance to review it.
A Media Kit Keeps Everyone On Brand
Ever see a letterhead sent out by your company that is two logos old and has your old address? These oversights aren’t usually common but can happen. If you change or update your logo or other company information, inform your entire team and have them update any documents with the old information. It is important to conduct regular check-ups of your collateral and documents to make sure that they are up to date.
