There is a lot of marketing out there. How can you hope to break through the clutter? Make content that is valuable to your prospects. Have you ever been glad to see a piece of marketing when you had a problem? Here are some tips you can use to help capture that feeling for your prospects:
Capture attention
This one may seem a bit obvious but you have to grab the attention of your prospects before you can get them on the hook. Most Americans see thousands of ads in a day and most don’t even realize it. We’ve learned to ignore all the ads that we see throughout the day and you only have a few seconds to get someone to notice your ad. Try to make ads tailored to your prospects and deliver them to the places they spend their time.
Reach out when you actually have something to say
We all have marketing calendars, quotas, and expectations. There are many recommendations to post regularly so that 1. The channel you’re using appears active and 2. Increase your chances that something will “go viral.” This is all well and good but you should ask if your posts are providing value to your followers. If you can, only post or comment when you have something to say to your prospects that will be valuable to them.
Once you have attention, move down the sales funnel.
So, you’ve got a prospect who has engaged with your content. Maybe filled out a contact form or even reached out to your sales team? That’s great but now you have to reel them in. If you have the capability, send materials to those prospects that will get them closer to a sale, such as more specific information on your company.
